A candlestick in the form of a classically draped woman holding a wreath 1810c 34 x 13cm This candlestick in the form of a classically draped woman bares inventory marks for the Tuileries Palace stamped around it's base. These marks would have been made after the fall of the Empire, probably during the reign of King Louis-Phillipe in the 1830's, but it is highly likely this candlestick comes from the Imperial Apartments during the time of Napoleon. The château of Fontainebleau holds a similar pair of candlestick in its collection. The Tuileries was Napoleon's Paris residence and he spent more time there than any of his other residences.
