LOUIS LEGER BOYELDIEU
Boyeldieu as colonel of the 4th regiment of the
line. Painted while on campaign in Germany in
1806. Boyeldieu had a distinguished career from
the early Revolutionary Wars finally reaching the
rank of general of division in 1813.

A member of the 'Marinai' of the Italian Royal
Guard from 1806. Shown wearing both the Order
of the Iron Crown (Couronne de fer) and the
legion d'honneur,  Signed Banchi, 1814.

was introduced in 1812, with the legion
