Letter from Prince Louis Alexandre Berthier announcing the birth of his first son

Prince Louis Alexandre Berthier writing to formally announce the birth of his first son, later to be named Napoléon-Alexandre Berthier (1810-1887). The letter written to LeBrun, Arch-chancellor of the Empire, states that “it is with much pleasure that I make haste to tell your Highness of the happy confinement of the Princess of Neuchâtel, and that she has given me a son. The mother and child are doing well....”

La mère et l’enfant se portent bien. Agréez en cette circonstance, Prince, l’expression de mon attachement et de ma plus haute considération
