Red wax seal with silk ribbon.
On the front of the seal we see the coat of arms of the French Empire and around the edge ‘NAPOLEON EMP. DES FRANCAIS ROI D’ITALIE PROTECTEUR DE LA CONFEDERATION DU RHIN. The reverse has an effigy of Napoleon seated on the throne of France with the words ‘NAPOLEON EMPEREUR DES FRANCAIS’.
These seals were attached to all important state documents and Brevets of Ennoblement issued during the Empire period.
