Two silver coffee spoons engraved with the crest of Baron Jean-Baptiste-Joseph Deshayes

With French silver marks for 1809-19 and maker mark, PPR with a rose above a star, for Philippe Rousseau.

Jean-Baptiste-Joseph DESHAYES was born on the 12 March 1772. He was created Chevalier de la Legion  d'Honneur in the first distribution in 1804. Named Captain of Infantry in the Imperial Guard in 1806 and Officier de la Legion d'Honneur in 1807. Elevated to the nobility as a Chevalier de l'Empire in 1808 and Baron of the Empire in 15 March 1810. Named Colonel 2e Regiment de Chasseurs-à-Pied de la Garde Imperiale and Commander de la Legion d’Honneur, along with Chevalier of the Ordre de la Couronne de Fer in 1813. He died on the 26 August 1813.
