A set of Italian 'couvert de voyage’ consisting of a knife, fork and spoon in silver
gilt, decorated with bunches of grapes and vine leaves. With Italian proof marks
for the city of Milan and the years 1810-15. These items may have been part of a
larger travelling case. The hallmarking system of Lombardy and Veneto was approved
by Eugene de Beauharnais, Viceroy of the Kingdom of Italy (Regno d'Italia), on December
25, 1810 and was activated in 1812.
