Wine bottle with stamped N and crown
1810c
Wine bottle with an embossed ‘N’ indicating this came from from his personal cellars. Napoleon’s predilection for the wines of Chambertin Clos-de-Beze is well known. He is reputed to have drunk little else. It would seem that the Emperor drank his Chambertin Clos-de-Beze – five or six years old – much diluted with water.
